About the Event

According to NASA’s global climate change assessment, the effects of human-caused global warming are already happening with observable effects on the environment; glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes are breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted, sea level rises have accelerated and longer, more intense heat waves, wildfires and periods of regional drought can be expected.

In line with the best available science on the impacts of climate change and as spoken by Peter Flavel, CEO of Coutts, it is evident that the cost of inaction is now far greater than the cost of action.

With philanthropy ingrained in their 300-year culture and history, sustainability has always been at the heart of Coutts’ work. Continuing to build their legacy, Coutts officially became a B-Corporation in 2021 marking a key step in their journey to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, standing up for ESG issues and encouraging as many of their 20,000 entrepreneurs to join the journey.

Following their leading example, Impact 17 + 1 Club are honored to welcome Coutts to iTalk XVIII and pleased to invite all impactors from across the world to tune in for their keynote and discussions to follow:

Keynote Theme:  Sustainability-in-Action

Keynote Topic:  The Path to B-Corp and Beyond – a Legacy in Action

o Coutts’ journey to B-Corp; 330-years and 18-months

o The metrics that make a difference to transcend profit with purpose

o Re-defining success in business and building a more inclusive and sustainable economy

Keynote Speaker: Alison Robb, Head of Sustainability, Coutts

Following the keynote address, 8 speakers are invited to share 60-seconds of their impact stories during the ‘iTalk 60seconds’ session on “What does impact mean to you?”

If you would like to speak during the iTalk 60-seconds session and share your impact vision, stories and actions, you can choose to register under the category ‘iTalk 60s Speaker’.

Following this, all participants are invited to the Impact Café; where the audience becomes the stage as part of an integrated, immersive ‘impact zone’ designed to foster ideation and connectivity within the SDG economy.

Metin has evolved throughout his career creating and adding value in accordance with his self-reflective, philosophical, entrepreneurial and philanthropic values. He believes reflection brings realisation, which in turn creates transformation and a powerful resonance within ourselves and our interaction with others. That is, if we have the right tools available to us in our toolbox.

Metin has had an illustrious career integrating value as a founder, co-founder and investor through boutique platforms in financial services, real estate, private equity, hospitality, asset management and thought leadership.
